Data Privacy Statement

We take privacy and data protection seriously

The protection of your privacy rights, when processing personal data, is a matter of the highest priority for our company. When you visit our website, our web server automatically saves the IP of your Internet Service Provider, the website from which you are visiting us from as well as the date and duration of your visit. This information is of compelling importance for the technical transmission of the websites and the secure service operation. There will not be any personalised evaluation of this data.

As soon as you send us data via the contact form, this data will be saved on our server as part of the data protection service. Your data will be exclusively utilised for processing your request. Your data will be treated with the strictest confidentiality. The data will not be transferred to any third party.

Personal data

Personal data is data about your person. This includes your name, your address and your email address. You do not have to provide personal data in order to visit our internet page. In certain cases, we will require your name and address, as well as other information, so that we can provide you with the required services.

This also applies in cases where you have requested us to provide you with information, material and/or when we have to answer your questions. We will, of course, always notify you in advance in such cases. We also only save data which you have automatically or voluntarily submitted to us.

When you utilise our services, we only generally collect the data which is necessary for us to provide the services required. Sometimes we will request additional information, but this is always voluntary. When we process personal data, we only do this to be able to provide you with our services, or in order to pursue our commercial objectives.

Automatically saved non-personal data

The website provider uses server log files to automatically collect and store information that your browser automatically transmits to us. The information collected relates to the following:

  • Date and time of the page request
  • Name of the requested data file
  • Page from which the data file was requested
  • Access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
  • Type of browser and operating system used
  • Complete IP address of the requesting computer
  • Volume of data transferred

These data are not combined with data from other sources. The basis for data processing is Art. 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR, which allows the processing of data for the purposes of our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our website.

For reasons of technical security, in particular to defend against attempts to attack our web server, these data are stored by us temporarily. These data do not allow us to identify specific individuals. After seven days at the latest, the data are anonymised by shortening the IP address at the domain level, at which point it is no longer possible to associate the data with an individual user. Data, in their anonymised form, are processed for statistical purposes; there is no comparison with other databases or transfer to third parties, even in excerpts. Information on the number of page views at our website is only released as part of the server statistics that are included in the activity report we publish every two years.

Cookies

When you visit our website, we may store information on your computer in the form of cookies. Cookies are small files that are transferred from an Internet server to your browser and stored on your computer’s hard disk. Only the Internet Protocol address is stored here; no personal data are stored. The information stored in the cookies allows us to automatically recognise you the next time you visit our website, which makes it easier for you to use the site. The legal basis for our use of cookies is a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR.

You can, of course, visit our websites without accepting cookies. If you require that your computer will not be recognised when you visit the website again, then you can deactivate the utilisation of cookies when you adjust the settings in your browser to "Reject Cookies". The relevant procedure can be found in the operating instructions for your respective browser. If you decide to reject the cookies, then this can lead to restrictions in the utilisation of certain areas of our websites.

A description of cookies and how to delete them is provided in the “Cookies” section above. The information about your use of this website collected by ClickDimensions (e.g. pages visited) is transmitted to a ClickDimensions server in the USA, where it is saved and analysed, with the results being provided to us.

Google Web Fonts

We use Google Web Fonts to ensure the optimal depiction of various types of information at our website (http://www.google.com/webfonts/).

When you open a page, the web fonts are sent to your browser cache for use in displaying texts. If your browser does not support Google Web Fonts, or blocks them, a standard font will be used by your computer. Google Web Fonts does not install cookies when a user views a page. Data that are transmitted in connection with a page view are sent to resource-specific domains such as fonts.googleapis.com or fonts.gstatic.com. These data are not associated with data that may be collected or processed in connection with the parallel use of authenticated Google services such as Gmail. You can set your browser in a way that ensures the fonts are not downloaded from Google's servers (e.g. through the installation of add-ons such as NoScript or Ghostery for Firefox).

If your browser does not support Google fonts or if you have denied access to Google's servers, all text will appear in the default font of the system.

Information about the privacy policy for Google Web Fonts can be found at: https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq#PrivacyInformationen Information on Google’s privacy policy and terms of use can be obtained directly from Google: http://www.google.com/intl/de-DE/privacy/

Font Awesome

This site uses web fonts for consistent font depiction; these are provided by Fonticons, Inc.

When you open a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into its cache so that it can display texts and fonts correctly. To do this, the browser you use must connect to Fonticons, Inc. servers. This informs Fonticons, Inc. that our website has been accessed from your IP address. Web fonts are used in the interests of a uniform and attractive online presentation. This constitutes a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR.

If your browser does not support the Fonticons, Inc. web fonts, a standard font will be used by your computer.

Further information on Font Awesome can be found at https://fontawesome.com/help and in the Fonticons, Inc. privacy policy: https://fontawesome.com/privacy.

ajax.googleapis.com for jQuery and jQueryUI

This website uses Ajax and jQuery/jQueryUI technologies that optimise page loading speed. In this connection, program libraries are accessed from Google servers. The Google CDN (content delivery network) is used here. If you have previously used jQuery on another page of the Google CDN, your browser will use the cached copy. If you have not previously used jQuery, you will need to download it. In so doing, data from your browser will be sent to Google Inc. ("Google"). Your data will then be transferred to the USA.

More information can be found at: https://developers.google.com/speed/libraries/#jquery and in the privacy policy at google.de.

CloudFlare

A web service provided by CloudFlare Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (hereinafter referred to as “CloudFlare”) is downloaded on our website. We use the data to guarantee the full functionality of our website. In this connection, your browser may transfer personal data to CloudFlare. The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR. The legitimate interest here is to ensure error-free operation of the website.

CloudFlare is certified within the framework of the EU/US Privacy Shield Agreement (https://www.privacyshield.gov/list). Data are deleted as soon as the purpose for their collection has been met. The CloudFlare privacy policy contains further information on how the transferred data are handled: https://www.cloudflare.com/security-policy/?utm_referrer=https://www.google.de/.

You can prevent CloudFlare from collecting and processing your data by deactivating the execution of script codes in your browser or by installing a script blocker (which you will find, for example, at www.noscript.net or www.ghostery.com).

Google Tag Manager

This website uses Google Tag Manager. Google Tag Manager does not collect personal data. The tool triggers other tags that in some cases may collect data. Google Tag Manager does not access these data. If disabled at domain or cookie level, it will remain in effect for all tracking tags implemented with Google Tag Manager.

Google’s privacy policy for this tool can be found here: https://www.google.de/tagmanager/use-policy.html

Google Analytics with anonymisation function

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, later on "Google". Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files stored on your computer enabling to analyse how this web site is used by yourself.

The information generated by the cookies, i.e. time, place and frequency of your website visit (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.

We utilise Google-Analytics on our website with the addition of "gat._anonymizeIp". In this case your IP address will already be shortened and thereby anonymised by Google within the member states of the European Union or in other countries contracted into the European Economic Area.

Google will utilise this information to evaluate your utilisation of our website and to create reports about website activities for us and to provide additional services connected with the utilisation of our website and the internet. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf.

Google has declared that they will never utilise your IP address in conjunction with other data from Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you might not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

In addition, Google will provide a deactivation add-on for all standard browsers which will provide you with more control over which data can be recorded by Google from websites accessed by you. The add-on informs the JavaScript (ga.js) from Google Analytics that no information about website visits should be transmitted to Google Analytics. The deactivation add-on for browser from Google Analytics does not however prevent that information will be transmitted to us or other web analysis services that have, where applicable, been implemented by us. Additional information relating to the browser add-on can be found via the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

This is also possible as an alternative to the above browser add-on. By clicking on the link, an opt-out cookie is set in your browser, which is only valid for this browser and this domain. If you delete the cookies in this browser, the opt-out cookie is also deleted and you will need to click on this link again.

If you have agreed to your web and app browser history being linked to your Google account and to information from your Google account being used for the personalisation of advertisements, Google will use your data together with the Google Analytics data in order to prepare target group lists for cross-device re-marketing. For this purpose, Google Analytics first collects your Google-authenticated ID on our website, which is linked to your Google account (personal data). Subsequently, Google Analytics will temporarily link your ID to your Google Analytics data to optimise our target groups.

If you do not agree to this you can opt out by means of the appropriate settings in the "My Account" area of your Google account.

YouTube in extended data protection mode

We use the provider YouTube to incorporate videos. For this, the videos were embedded in extended data protection mode [CV1]. As most websites, YouTube also uses cookies to collect information about the visitors to its website. YouTube uses this information amongst other things to prepare video statistics, to avoid fraud and for the improvement of user friendliness. This also leads to the establishment of a connection to the Google DoubleClick network. Starting the video could trigger other data processing operations. We have no influence on this. For further information regarding YouTube data protection, please refer to the YouTube Data Protection Declaration under: http://www.youtube.com/t/privacy_at_youtube

Facebook Custom Audiences Pixels

In order to present interest-based advertisements to Facebook users who have visited our website, we utilise the “Custom Audiences Pixel” from Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). We have installed such a Facebook pixel on our website, which makes a direct connection to the Facebook servers whenever anyone visits our website. The pixel sends a message to the Facebook server informing it that you have visited our website. Facebook then assigns this information to your personal Facebook account. For more information on the collection and use of data by Facebook, as well as your rights in this regard and ways to protect your privacy, see the Facebook privacy policy at: https://www.Facebook.com/about/privacy/.

Online job application

We collect and process the application data you transmit to us by electronic means for the purpose of handling the application procedure. This applies in particular to the following personal data: Title, e-mail, date of birth, country, town, postal code, telephone, first name, how did you find us? If your application results in the conclusion of an employment contract, the data transmitted can be stored in your personnel file for the purpose of the standard organisation and administration process under observation of the relevant legal regulations.

Upon rejection of your application, the personal data transmitted by you will be deleted automatically two months after notification of the rejection. This does not apply if a longer storage period is necessary due to statutory requirements (such as the burden of proof in accordance with the General Equal Treatment Act) or if you have explicitly consented to a longer storage period in our prospects database.

Newsletter

We use the so-called double opt-in procedure for sending our newsletter, i.e. we will only send you a newsletter via e-mail if you have previously explicitly confirmed that you would like us to activate the newsletter service. We will then send you a notification e-mail prompting you to confirm that you wish to receive our newsletter by clicking on a link in the e-mail. When you subscribe to our newsletter we will save your IP address and the date of subscription. This serves solely for the purpose of proof in case your e-mail address is misused by a third party to register you for the receipt of our newsletter without your knowledge or authorisation. If at any time in the future you no longer wish to receive our newsletter, you can unsubscribe without any other costs being incurred than the transmission costs at the basic tariffs.

Safety

We have implemented technical and administrative safety precautions to protect your personal data against loss, destruction, manipulation and unauthorised access. All our employees, as well as service providers who work for us, are obligated to comply with the valid data protection laws. When we collect personal data and process it, then this is always encrypted before it is transmitted. This means that your data cannot be misused by any third parties. Our protection measures are subjected to constant, on-going improvement processes and our data protection declarations are constantly updated. Please ensure that you have the current, valid version.

Rights of persons affected

Right of information:

You have the right to obtain information from us as to whether and to what extent we process your personal data.

Right to rectification:

You have the right to demand rectification of any incomplete or inaccurate personal data that we process.

Right to erasure:

You have the right to demand that we erase your data if we process any of them unlawfully, or if the processing excessively interferes with your legitimate data-protection interests. Please note that there may be reasons why we might not be able to effect immediate erasure – e.g. in the case of data storage requirements stipulated by law.

Regardless of whether you exercise your right to erasure, we will immediately and completely erase your data as long as there is no transactional, contractual or legal retention requirement that would prevent this.

Right to restriction of processing:

You have the right to demand that we restrict the processing of your data if

  • you contest the accuracy of the data, in which case the restriction will apply for a period enabling us to verify the accuracy of the data,
  • the processing is unlawful and you oppose erasure of the personal data and instead request the restriction of their use,
  • we no longer need the personal data for the purposes of processing, but you need the data in order to exercise or defend legal claims, or
  • you have objected to the processing of your personal data.

Right to data portability:

You have the right to receive the personal data concerning you, which you have provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format. Furthermore, you have the right to transmit those data to another controller without hindrance from us, provided

  • that we are processing these data on the basis of a revocable consent issued by you or to meet the requirements of a contract between us, and
  • this processing is carried out by automated means.

If technically possible, we can directly transmit your data to another controller upon your request.

Right to object:

If we process your data in order to serve legitimate interests, you can object to this processing at any time; this would also apply to profiling based on these provisions. We would then stop processing your data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or else show that processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. You can object to the processing of your data for direct marketing purposes at any time without having to provide any reasons.

Right to lodge a complaint:

If you believe that we are violating German or European data protection law when processing your data, we ask you to contact us so that we can clarify any questions. You of course also have the right to contact the supervisory authority responsible for you – i.e. the office for data protection in your state.

If you wish to assert any of your aforementioned rights against us, please contact our Data Protection Officer. In case of doubt, we may request additional information to confirm your identity.

We retain the right to amend our data protection declarations when this is necessary due to new technology. Please ensure that you have the current, valid version. If any fundamental amendments are made to the Data Protection declaration, we will post them on our website.
