Wind power makes a sizeable contribution to the total power generated from renewable energy sources. The installation and operation costs must be amortised over the average 20-year operating phase of these plants. In order to do this, the entire lifecycle of the plants must be continually optimised and adjusted to changing circumstances, technological or economic. Christian Höhler becomes CTO at DEHN

The family-owned company DEHN has appointed Christian Höhler as CTO as of 01 November 2020. The 51-year-old graduate engineer can draw on many years of experience in the international environment as a development and sales manager. At WERMA, one of the market leaders in the field of signalling in industry and buildings, he was latterly responsible for the Research and Development section.

The combined lightning current and surge arresters of the new BLITZDUCTORconnect series protect automation and measuring and control systems in industrial environments as well as information technology interfaces. A high lightning current discharge capacity and a low protection level make them ideal components for reliable terminal device protection. The new DEHNcombo YPV combined arrester from the lightning and surge protection specialist DEHN safely protects PV systems from surges caused by lightning interference. The arrester offers a number of application advantages for PV systems in a single device. The varistor-based protective device combines a type 1 lightning current arrester and a type 2 surge arrester and incorporates a tried and tested Y circuit.

Smart and safe with DEHN

The sustainable use of resources requires the intelligent and sustainable generation, distribution and use of energy. This includes protection of the associated systems and plants. At “The Smarter E Europe“ (hall B3, booth 372) - the most important industry platform which takes place from May 15 to May 17 in Munich - we will demonstrate how to protect systems against lightning-related surges and safely handle electrical energy.

Wireless inspection camera brings the invisible to light

The wireless inspection camera by DEHN is now available with an optional LED lighting unit which is quite simply mounted to the camera enclosure. The practical camera is ideal for inspecting and documenting the state of electrical installations up to 123 kV / 15-60 Hz – under live conditions. The extra lighting, point or diffused, makes it possible to use the camera in badly lit locations.
